Sergey Pietilya

Let me introduce myself. My name is Sergey Pietilya. I was born in 1964 in the village Oleniv, the region Segegsky, Karelia, Russia. I spent my young years in Finland, Hamekosky-city.

I finished The high school of arts in Pitkyataranta city. In 1985 I entered The Pedagogical Academy of Kostroma (Russia), the faculty of painting. After my studies I was working as a teacher of painting in an elementary school. At the same time I was working as a designer of interior, and a painter and I was engaged with engraving on glass. In 1995 I started to be interested only in painting. I participated in some regional exhibitions. In 2001 I was included to the Russian Union of Artists.

In winter of 2004-2005 years I had been working for 2 months in Paris. Now I’m working as a teacher of arts in Kostroma State Pedagogical University and im also glad to be a director of a private school of arts. Im practicing different types of technologies of painting: portrait, landscape, genre-nude and some others. Among my works there are lots of portraits of famous people, like the portrait of Miria Runnianen –the Member of the European Parliament.

My works have been presented at art exhibitions in Finland in 2001 and 2005.

Im an annual participant of Russian regional art exhibitions.

Im making regular tours, devoted to developing my professional skills, both inside Russia and abroad. I’ve already visited Valaam, Komi Republic, Kasimov, Ples (Russia), Hamburg, Bremen, Paris.

My paintings are presented in many foreign countries: the USA, Australia, African countries, Germany, France, Finland.
